Lazar Kaminsky, Cello

Lazar Kaminsky is an 18-year-old cellist based in the Boston area. His most notable accomplishments include winning the Academia Internacional de Música de Solsona (AIMS) Festival Concerto as well as first and special prize in the International New York Solo Competition. He was featured as a soloist in two concerts with the Concord Orchestra where he performed Elgar’s Cello Concerto as a result of winning the Concord Young Artist Competition.

Lazar has played in masterclasses for esteemed cellists such as Ralph Kirshbaum, Santiago Canon Valencia, Natasha Brofsky, Richard Aaron, Julie Albers, and many others. He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the AIMS Festival Orchestra and the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lazar has participated in multiple music festivals, some of which include the Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF), AIMS Festival, New England Conservatory Summer Orchestra Institute, and the International Cello Institute. He currently serves as a principal cellist of the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the String Chamber Orchestra at the New England Conservatory of Music Preparatory School, where he studies with Nancy Hair and Lluis Claret.
